 Date: 19 January 2007 Italian Postal Service Issues New Stamp Commemorating the Montessori Centenary It features a portrait of educator Maria Montessori with two students from the early 1900s and two from present day, representing the Children’s House founded by the educator in 1907, in Rome; at the top right there is a logo for the 100th anniversary of the first “Casa dei Bambini” – the name she gave to her classroom for children aged 3-6. The stamp was issued on January 5, 2007 to commemorate the Centenary of the Montessori Movement.For further information see:
